Joined Chat'Bout in 2013, was struggling with unemployment and wanting to leave university for full time work. Chat'Bout helped Carys to get voluntary and freelance events work. Including running the apprenticeship roadshows in conjunction with the Nottingham City Council & Groundwork Greater Nottingham. Eventually landing her dream marketing role at Groundwork, with the support and advocacy of Chat'Bout.

I am founding member of Chat’Bout and really enjoy the idea of giving young harder to reach young people a voice. I am a BA Criminology graduate and currently work in a pupil referral unit as an engagement officer and a Sociology teacher. During my time at Chat’Bout I have spoken on a number of panels representing harder to reach young people, delivered workshops on issues such as stop and search, hate crime and relationships with the police, been involved in focus groups giving my opinion along with others on areas such as health and crime and attended a number of meetings around issues with in the community. Chat’Bout has given me opportunities such as teacher training, exchange trips abroad and putting on our own events. I have felt supported and gained a lot of knowledge during my time as part of Chat’Bout.
