Chat’bout is a Nottingham based Peer led Young People’s Participation Network. By Young People, for Young People.

 

We aim to provide a voice for young people to influence policies, services and initiatives which have an impact on their lives. Our aim is to enable ourselves to participate fully in the community and improve quality of life for ourselves and other young people.

Members of Chat’bout have often experienced challenges in their lives which provide unique insights and understanding about barriers in life.

 

We meet service providers from Local and Health Authorities, Police Local Partnerships and the Universities to research and debate issues affecting young people, and look at realistic solutions from a young person’s perspective. We got started in May 2013 when a group of us met with researcher to discuss impact of stop and search on young people as a focus group. We did a couple more focus groups, had a trip to Parliament and the rest is history.....
